CU football will play on national television Sept. 22

The Colorado Buffaloes and Washington State Cougars could very easily finish as the two worst teams in the Pac-12 this season, but when they go head-to-head on September 22, they’ll (conceivably) have all of America watching.

Per Kyle Ringo of the Boulder Daily-Camera on Twitter this afternoon, the Buffs and Cougars will be on FX when the two battle in Pullman later this month.

Why, exactly? To be quite honest, we don’t quite know either. There must be some truly horrendous games on tap for the 22nd.

The Buffs are 0-2 after a disastrous loss to FCS school Sacramento State on Saturday, while Washington State squeaked by Eastern Washington – yes, Eastern Washington, the team with the red football field – 24-20 on Saturday to improve to 1-1 on the year.

Kickoff on the 22nd is set for 2:00 MT. The Buffs lost 31-27 to Washington State last October at Folsom Field.

Ringo also added that senior linebacker Doug Rippy is expected to miss the next two games with a knee injury.
