Houston Texans cornerback Johnathan Joseph has much more than the game in mind as his team prepares to play the Broncos on Sunday afternoon.
He is also looking to learn a few things from his role model, Champ Bailey.
The Houston Chronicle reported Thursday, Joseph has already made plans to get together with Bailey during his time in Denver.
“You can always pick up something new,” Joseph told the paper, “something that can possibly help you.”
Joseph, who was a first-round pick in 2006, made the Pro Bowl in 2011, but still knows he has a long way to go before catching up to Bailey.
“He’s been to 11 Pro Bowls. He’s a guy I’ve emulated throughout my career,” Joseph said. “What’s this, his 13th, 14th year? And he’s still playing at a top level.”
Peyton Manning, on the other hand, would probably appreciate it if Bailey waited until after the game to educate the Texans’ cornerback.
