Julyan Stone will need more time to recover from the hip surgery he had in the offseason, Nuggets head coach George Karl revealed to reporters on Monday. According to Nick Borges of ESPN.com, the Denver Nuggets’ number three point guard will be out until at least January rehabilitating from the injury.
Stone currently sits behind Ty Lawson and Andre Miller on the depth chart, so the injury won’t affect members of the Nuggets’ primary rotation. However, the injury to Stone could open the door for non-roster invitee Anthony Carter, a guard that was adored by Karl in his first stint with the Nuggets.
“It’s a philosophical discussion to have at the end of camp,” Karl stated when asked about the decision-making process in the wake of Stone’s continuing rehab.
