NFL fans will get a special treat Sunday when they watch 2011’s offensive and defensive rookies of the year face off when the Broncos visit the Panthers.
The Cam Newton-led offense will face the Broncos, led by last season’s defensive rookie of the year Von Miller.
It’s probably a good thing, because it appears Newton and Miller are each other’s biggest fans.
“I am Cam’s biggest fan,” Miller told the Charlotte Observer. “Coming out with him last year and watching him fight all the adversity that he had in college and come into the league and perform at a high level, not just being able to run the ball but throw the ball, overall being the great superstar he is. If I had sons that play quarterback, I would tell them to watch Cam Newton.”
Newton had high praise for Miller as well saying, “(Miller is) about as all-around a defensive player as you can have.”
Given the fact that Miller currently leads the Broncos with nine sacks, he’ll probably get plenty of face time with Newton, a luxury which most fans don’t have.
