Despite earlier indications that Cincinnati head coach Butch Jones was leaning towards taking the Colorado job, it now appears that Jones is undecided.
Jones addressed reporters in Cincinnati on Tuesday to discuss the Bearcats’ upcoming trip to the Belk Bowl later this month, only for the first two questions to be about his job status. While Jones insisted that he was still the head coach at Cincinnati, he sidestepped other questions about his coaching future. The third-year coach even threatened to end the press conference if he were asked any more questions about his job status.
Jones met in Boulder on Monday with CU athletic director Mike Bohn and chancellor Phil DiStefano and was reportedly impressed with the visit.
Jones is expected to make his decision on Tuesday, likely later in the day.
Mile High Sports will continue to have all the latest on the CU coaching search as it happens.
