Father of Raiders head coach Dennis Allen passes away

Grady Allen, the former NFL player and father of former Denver Broncos defensive coordinator and current Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen, has passed away at 66, Bill Williamson of ESPN reported on Tuesday.
The younger Allen flew to Dallas immediately after Oakland’s loss to Cleveland Sunday, knowing his father was gravely ill, but plans to return to the Bay Area Thursday night when his Raiders are scheduled to face off against his former team, the Broncos. Allen has every intention of coaching his team during the game, according to the report.
Grady Allen was a linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons from 1968-72 and has often been mentioned by his son as a primary influence in his career.
