Woodyard’s ankle keeps him out of practice

ENGLEWOOD – The right ankle injury that Wesley Woodyard suffered Sunday left him “day-to-day,” according to Broncos coach John Fox.

But that day will not be Tuesday, as he was the only Broncos player not on the field when practice began.

While Woodyard was sidelined, receivers Matt Willis and Brandon Stokley were on hand as practice began. Willis hurt his knee Sunday, while Stokley was out with a hip problem.

Defensive end Robert Ayers also returned after missing last week because of the death of his father.
