In the 30 days leading up to the start of Denver Broncos Training Camp 2016, we’re examining 30 big questions for the season. We’ll make a case for each answer; you’ll vote and tell Broncos Country what’s going to happen this year.

Former Broncos linebacker Danny Trevathan was no stranger to the top of the tackling leaderboard.

He led the Broncos in tackles during the 2013 season as well as last year’s championship season and probably would’ve led the team in tackles in 2014 if he hadn’t gone down with a knee injury. But unlike the ’13 and ’14 seasons, last year’s leaderboard was close. Trevathan ended up edging out Brandon Marshall by only seven tackles.

Now that Trevathan has left for Chicago in free agency, the Broncos will have to find a new leading tackler in 2016. But who will it be?

The obvious choice is Brandon Marshall. He led the Broncos in 2014 with 133 tackles and was second to Trevathan last season with 102. Marshall also signed a four-year extension worth $32 million, so it’s safe to assume the Broncos are counting on him to produce big numbers.

But what about the other studs on the Denver defense?

What about Todd Davis? The early candidate to replace Trevathan was turning heads during OTAs. Davis played in every game last season, but only recorded 11 tackles. Will he see Trevathan-type numbers with an increased workload?

How about T.J. Ward? Ward is a hard hitting strong safety that enjoys playing close to the line. The Broncos boast one of the best secondaries in the league with the “No Fly Zone”, will their coverage allow Ward to make plays closer to the line of scrimmage?

The other half of the Broncos hard-hitting safety duo is another potential candidate to take the top tackling position. Darian Stewart, who the Broncos added via free agency prior the 2015 season, could be considered in the missing piece that helped the Broncos to their third Super Bowl. In his first year on the team, Stewart had fewer tackles than only Marshall and Trevathan. Will Stewart pick up where he left off?

What do you think? Who will lead the Broncos in tackles during the 2016 season?
