What will be the Broncos record at the end of the season? Apparently, it’ll be 8-8, at least that’s what I came up with on my show yesterday. Breaking it down game-by-game. I have added two wins to my original prediction of 6-10. What’s your prediction? Leave it here or call my show today or tomorrow and get your prediction on the record. I don’t want to hear from people all season about what they predicted, but didn’t get it on the record.
Triple Crown talk should be on the backburner, but a little race for the batting crown between Cargo and Tulo is certainly interesting, and might generate some runs.

The late James Merilatt and I go over the Broncos schedule, game by game, and make our season picks. Join in the fun (fun?), and give us a call with your season prediction.
Carlos Gonzalez (.340), Joey Votto (.321), Troy Tulowitzki (.317) – two out of the three top batting average leaders in the National League are on the Rockies. Because of injuries, Tulo just qualified for the list with enough at-bats; it would be weird if he ended up on a roll, and was the guy who kept Cargo from the Triple Crown.

Women on sports talk radio, check out my column on the Denver Daily News web site today. Do you know a woman who is a bigger sports fan than you are and can articulate it in an interesting way? Tell her to read my column today.
Some of the 60,000 people at the CU/CSU game on Saturday came dressed as seat backs, because from what I say that crowd couldn’t have filled Hughes Stadium. I do think that the Rams coeds were the hottest between the two schools; both schools were well represented. This game should stay on campus, the people of Denver don’t care and they proved it in droves absentee ballots.
What’s the Broncos record going to be? This is the last chance to get your pick down on the record, rather than telling me in week eight that you knew what they were going to do this season. I won’t believe you unless you put it in writing right here. Period.

In 14 drives during the preseason, Kyle Orton has led the Broncos to six touchdowns and one field goal. That’s an impressive stat.
All three quarterbacks looked good last night, and that bodes well for the Broncos. This was the first game they actually won on the stat sheet. It’ll be hard to keep Matthew Willis and Eric Decker off the roster; I’m afraid that Brandon Stokley is in trouble. I hope they find a way to keep him, but he’s making too much money to be a part-time guy.
The Rockies have buried themselves alive; that’s the key word, they’re still ALIVE.

How many wins will Ubaldo get this season? The guy is pitching lights out, but is getting little run support since his team-record-tying 17th victory. Twenty wins should have been a cakewalk, but now it may be a pipe dream.
Give me the score of tonight’s Broncos/Vikings final preseason game. Gil’s Pick: Vikings win 28-17.

(9/7/2010 10:33:55 AM) The Broncos will win six and lose ten. 6 and 2 at home, winless on the road. Other than possibly Jacksonville this week, I don't see them having a chance to win a road game. |
