The Colorado Avalanche got no love from the folks at Fox. In their initial NHL power rankings Colorado is sitting at No. 23. Having finished last in the Central Division this might be expected but Joe Sakic has done a great job this offseason addressing the team’s needs.
Colorado signed veteren defensemen Francois Beauchemin to anchor the blue line and moved Ryan O’Reilly for Nikita Zadorov, a raw but very talented young defensemen.
With the additions the Avalanche have made Danny Williams and Marcello Romano of Morning Mayhem wonder why Colorado is so low in Fox’s power rankings. Patrick Roy’s group has plenty of scoring so the defensive upgrades can skyrocket the potential of this club.
