The Denver Nuggets got their guy in Jamal Murray with the seventh pick in the draft. Murray took some time to talk with the Nuggets media members following his selection.

Do you think you can be the best player in this draft?
“Yes, I feel like I am the best.”
Are you excited to play with Mudiay?
“Yeah, it is going to be fun. We can play off of each other. We compliment each other well.”
Do you see yourself as a shooting guard solely or more of a combo guard?
“Point guard, two guard, scoring, play making … whatever the team needs. It’s not about being a one or a two; it’s just what do I need to do.”
What do you think of Mudiay?
“He’s a strong guard. He’s big. He’s crafty. He is working on his game constantly. It will be good. Really looking to start with him and work with the rest of the team.”
Does falling in the draft motivate you?
“Yeah, I wanted to be a high pick but I am looking forward to playing with this team and getting used to playing with Muiday and all of the others. But I am a competitor so it doesn’t matter where I go.”
