The talent continues to flood out of Denver.

Yesterday, Mile High Sports Radio’s Benjamin Allbright reported that the Chicago Bears were nearing a contract with Danny Trevathan, and as of this afternoon, it has been made official.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, given that Trevathan admitted he’d be talking to the Bears during free agency while the Broncos made their run to the Super Bowl.

Still, with Malik Jackson and Brock Osweiler already out the door, the Broncos look to be coming away empty handed.

Trevathan, a sixth-round pick in 2012, recorded 109 total tackles for the Broncos last season, came down with two interceptions and took one to the house. More than anything, it’ll be that pass-coverage ability the Broncos will miss the most.

In this day and age, the ability to cover a tight end or running back from the linebacker position is invaluable. Trevathan is one of the best.
