Through the first 12-plus hours of free agency, the Denver Nuggets remained silent, but according to the Denver Posts’ Chris Dempsey, Tim Connelly has entered the fray.

Darrell Arthur, 27, has been with the Denver Nuggets for three seasons, and last year was far and away his best in the Mile High City.

Averaging 21.7 minutes a game, Arthur put up 7.5 points and 4.2 rebounds, while finally showing the long-rumored three-point shot he’s been reportedly working on; he shot nearly 39 percent from behind the arc on 1.7 attempts per game.

But it’s not just his on-court performance that earned him this new contract with the Nuggets; it’s his veteran leadership.

The Denver Nuggets are packed to the brim with young potential, but they don’t have many veteran players who’ve “been around.” That’s exactly what Arthur provides, along with guys like Jameer Nelson and Danilo Gallinari.

And at the price they’re getting him, it looks like a fantastic move by Connelly and Co

Welcome back, Darrell!
