Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson is headed home, relatively speaking, this week when his team travels to Santa Clara, Calif. for a pair of joint practices with the 49ers ahead of their preseason game with them on Saturday. But for the Vallejo, Calif. native, there will be little time for homecoming activities, including hitting his favorite seafood spot.

Anderson sat down with Kent Erickson and Benny Bash on the final day of Broncos training camp Monday, and said that he’s looking at a very full schedule when his team leaves for the Bay Area.

“We leave [Tuesday] right after practice. Shower and dress here. We do security right here [get on the team bus to the airport] and then get on the plane and go,” Anderson said of the team’s itinerary.

From Wednesday on, it’s all football and all about the 49ers until the final whistle on Saturday. Heading home is not an option.

“I have no time to go home,” Anderson said. “Everybody’s got to come to me. That’s fine though. It’s about 45 minutes away from my home town.”

As for who he will see in his very limited time off, Anderson says it will be all family.

“I’ve got about two hours. [I’ll] see some family at night,” he said.

That jam-packed schedule means Anderson won’t be able to get out to his favorite seafood spot.

“Crustacean, a seafood spot,” a smiling Anderson said.

The Vietnamese-Asian fusion restaurant in San Francisco (also Beverly Hills) has a 4.3-star rating on nearly 250 reviews on Google. Broncos fans only need to worry about Anderson’s recommendation though.

“Best seafood spot you’ve ever had in your life,” Anderson said emphatically.

As for what Broncos fans traveling to the Bay should order, Anderson says it’s simple.

“Garlic crab, garlic prawns, garlic noodles – can’t beat it, won’t lose.”
