C.J. Anderson has been on injured reserve for a couple months now after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus, but there was always the hope that he might be able to return late in the season or in the playoffs.

Yesterday, the Broncos’ No. 1 running back seemed to say that returning was no longer a possibility.

Understandably, fans questioned exactly what Anderson meant, asking why he was already looking towards the offseason when his team was still making a push for the postseason. Some went so far as to say that he quit on the franchise.

From the sound of it, Denver told C.J. to focus his efforts on 2017, not the playoffs, which means that this will be Justin Forsett and Devontae Booker‘s backfield going forward.
