With six weeks left in the regular season, it’s make-or-break time for the Denver Broncos.

Denver has slipped to third place in the AFC West standings, which has them as the sixth seed in the AFC playoff race. Even with a 7-3 record, there’s little room for error, and through 10 games, the Broncos have been living precariously close to the edge.

They, more than anyone, know they need to improve.

“[The Saints] are a great team, obviously,” DeMarcus Ware told Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro of Afternoon Drive on Mile High Sports Radio. “We went down there in a hostile environment and were able to get that win … a win is a win, but you always got to look at yourself and say where can you critique yourself to get better?”

According to Ware, nobody is a bigger critic of the Denver Broncos than the Broncos themselves, and they’re prepared to take a hard look in the mirror. While they all have each other’s back, they know they need to push each other, too.

“We have a lot of confidence in each other,” Ware said. “It comes in the locker room, and we do the same thing in practice. Everybody is hard on each other, and that carries over into the football game.”

Still, with the trade deadline come and gone, the Broncos are who they are, and luckily they’re well aware of what they means. It may be unconventional, but they’ve been playing this way for two years now, and they’ve become very adept at it.

“I think with this division, it’s gonna come down to a formula,” Ware said. “[A formula] of which team runs the best, runs the ball the most consistently throughout the games, holding their ball. And what defense is always gonna come up with big plays, week in and week out, to score points.”

Fortunately for the Broncos, they have a little time to try and perfect this formula before their next game. Denver takes the field again Sunday, Nov 27 against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.
