The Denver Broncos clearly want to trade Mark Sanchez if they can find the right compensation in return. With the Minnesota Vikings losing Teddy Bridgewater for the year, if not more, it looked like the Broncos might be able to get just that.

Well, not anymore.

The Vikings were more than willing to give up a pretty penny for a stopgap quarterback — a first and fourth rounder — but not for Mark Sanchez.

If the Broncos can’t find a trade partner before today’s 2:00 p.m. deadline, they may be forced to cut Sanchez if they truly don’t want to guarantee his $4.5 million contract.
