The Denver Nuggets played their first home preseason game Friday night, but unfortunately lost their promising point guard Emmanuel Mudiay in the process.

Mudiay drove to the basket in the third quarter against the Golden State Warriors and put up an acrobatic layup, landing awkwardly on his ankle.

Mudiay was able to stand up and limp off the court, but shortly after receiving treatment on the sideline and proceeded to the locker room.

The injury is being labeled as a right ankle sprain at the moment.

The Nuggets are already down starting two guard Gary Harris who’s status for the season opener is in question with a groin injury. So, if the ankle injury to Mudiay is serious the Nuggs may be without their starting backcourt.
