Colorado State senior forward Emmanuel Omogbo has been named the Mountain West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today. This is the first time that Omogbo has earned the honor.

The leading rebounder in the conference, Omogbo continued to assert himself in all phases, recording a double-double in each of the three games this week, leading the Rams to victories in all three. He averaged 14.7 points and 13.7 rebounds for the week while shooting 48.4 percent from the field and 73.7 percent from the free throw line. 

The week started against Maryland Eastern Shore Nov. 23, as Omobgo had 11 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high four assists in the win. He had a season-high 16 rebounds with 18 points (just two off career high) in the win over Southeastern Louisiana, Nov. 25. Then he followed it up with 15 points and 15 rebounds in the week-ending victory over Alcorn State, Nov. 27. He also handed out nine assists for the week against just two turnovers. His three double-doubles upped his total to four this season and 12 in his CSU career.

Colorado State will head on the road for a rivalry game, traveling to Boulder to take on Colorado on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
