Regular listeners to Morning Mayhem on Mile High Sports AM 1340 are familiar with the idea of “full disclosure” when it comes to talking football. Every Friday during football season is dubbed “Full Disclosure Football Friday,” where callers can air their fears, frustrations and fealty without risk of being judged. In the cutthroat world of sports talk radio, it’s a safe place – a trust tree, if you will.

It’s with that in mind that we prepare you for the following podcast, chock full of wild notions and curious content relating to the Denver Broncos, Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler, among other topics. Even though this discussion took place on the Monday following the Denver Broncos big win over the previously undefeated New England Patriots, we feel obliged to keep those central tenets of “Full Disclosure Football Friday” in mind.

Full Disclosure: Before Danny Williams and Marcello Romano get into any Broncos talk, they’re going to hit you with a Thanksgiving-sized portion of turkey talk and ping-pong pondering.

Full Disclosure: Danny Williams has been saying for weeks, if not months, that Peyton Manning is effectively done as a NFL quarterback and that his presence on the Denver Broncos is a detriment as the team is currently constructed.

So don’t lambaste Williams when he says that Manning shouldn’t see the field again for the Broncos. He’s no bandwagon Brock booster. He’s been driving that bus for some time now.

When he says that beating the Patriots in the snow, in only his second start, with Demaryius Thomas playing the worst game of his professional career is grounds to officially crown Osweiler the starter for the rest of the season, he’s not speaking out of turn. At least not compared to what he’s been saying through much of the season.

Full Disclosure: Romano has long enjoyed playing the role of pragmatist, whether it be with Williams or other hosts he’s shared the airwaves with over the years.

So this is far from the wildest notion he’s had to sift through, although with each passing week he says it’s getting harder and harder to make a definitive statement as to what Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak should do when Peyton Manning is finally declared officially healthy enough to return to the field.

Romano says a discussion will be had. Williams says the debate is closed. Romano remembers just four weeks ago when Manning dismantled the then-undefeated Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football. Williams remembers the blood bath Manning endured when he threw four interceptions and was benched against Kansas City only two weeks later.

Full Disclosure: Only Gary Kubiak and John Elway have any real idea what’s going to happen when Manning is cleared by the medical staff. Until then, we’ll get to enjoy some spirited and impassioned debates like the one in the podcast below.
