Déjà vu in Grand Junction, Colo., as McLennan Community College Highlanders took on San Jacinto North Gators for the second time in four days. Just like the first game, opening the tournament for both teams, McLennan went on to win. McLennan won the second time 11-6 over San Jacinto.

The first inning finished scoreless the top of the second, however, saw McLennan get the scoring started Tucker Johnson singled staring the second. Johnson saw a steal opportunity and stole second. Noah McGowan then singled bringing in Johnson for the Highlanders first run. San Jacinto countered scoring two in their half of the second. A huge top of the third for McLennan saw them scoring six total runs and gaining the momentum in the game. Tucker Johnson in the third at it again this time homering for a 2-run homer with Kirby McGuire on base. The homer by Johnson started the snowball effect for the inning and San Jacinto defense. San Jacinto getting out of the third, following the six spot, scattered runs the rest of the game never getting all the way back. The Highlanders added insurance runs in the seventh and ninth, ultimately winning 11-6 in the battle of Texas round two.

McLennan known for pitching used three pitchers doing enough keeping the San Jacinto bats at bay to get the win. McLennan with the 11-6 win stays alive in the tournament. The Highlanders play the winner of NW Florida State vs. Walters State in the next round. The 11-6 loss eliminates San Jacinto North they go 2-2 in the tournament. The Gators finish the 2015 season 43-21.
