When Kentucky basketball head coach John Calipari was on the Afternoon Drive on Mile High Sports Radio after the NBA Draft, he said that Jamal Murray would lead all rookies in scoring if given the minutes. After Murray’s 29-point outburst at Summer League on Monday, his opinion hasn’t changed.

Murray got off to a slow start at Summer League, looking a little overmatched athletically, but his crafty offensive game showed itself in game three.

While he shot under 50 percent from the field and took a few ill-advised shots, Murray was still able to show why he was selected seventh overall.

We’ll see if he can continue on that performance later this week.
