According to ESPN senior writer Marc Stein, Mike Malone interviewed for the Denver Nuggets head coaching position on Tuesday. Malone was the coach for the Sacramento Kings during the 2013-14 season and for part of the 2014-15 season. Previously he held assistant coaching positions with New York, Cleveland, Charlotte and Golden State.

In Malone’s 106 games as Kings head coach, he compiled a 39-67 record. Since being fired, Malone has stepped away from basketball activities, but that may be changing soon. Adam Mares, a writer for Denver Stiffs put forth these tweets regarding Malone:

With recent coaching vacancies being filled in New Orleans, Orlando and Chicago, Denver remains the last coachless team in the NBA. Nugget’s president Josh Kroenke and GM Tim Connelly have drawn this process out, and now with all eyes on Denver, the coaching decision needs to be the right one.
