Now that the Rapids have the USL’s Colorado Springs Switchbacks out of the way and are aware of who they’ll be facing in the next round of the US Open Cup, the Rapids can shift their attention shortly back to the MLS with an upcoming match against FC Dallas on Friday at 7 p.m. at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

Defender Drew Moor commented in a postgame podcast on how his team played in the US Open Cup and how he expects it to translate over to Friday’s match.

“The performance we put together, the way we passed the ball, the way we finished on chances, regardless of who was on the field, it’s good confidence for the entire squad,” Moor said. “It’s something to build on heading into Friday night. It’s a big game for us, there’s three points on the table.”

Albeit a third-tier team they beat, it’s always a great feeling knowing you can put the ball in the net, especially for the Rapids.

Richard Fleming, co-host of the Rapids podcast reported Colorado is the only team in the MLS this season who is averaging less than a goal per game.

The Rapids currently leads the season series against Dallas 1-0-1, beating them 4-0 and earning a draw. FC Dallas is coming off a home win against OKC Energy FC, though prior to that they had lost four straight away games.

Despite Dallas’ recent road woes, Moor believes they’ll still start out strong. “Dallas always comes out hot,” Moor said. “We have to be ruthless…and make it about us.”
