The Denver Outlaws (8-6) secured a No. 3 seed in the 2016 MLL postseason and will face the No. 2 seeded New York Lizards (8-6) on Saturday, Aug. 13, at Fairfield University’s Rafferty Stadium in Fairfield, Conn. Face off for the first of two semi-final games is set for 2 p.m. MDT.

The Outlaws possess a .500 record against the Lizards in 2016 with a Week 6 21-18 loss in New York and a Week 9 20-16 victory at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

After beginning the season 2-6, the Denver Outlaws won six straight games to finish with an 8-6 record. It was the longest win streak since Denver won all 14 games during the 2013 regular season.

The Outlaws had the week off after wrapping up their regular season play on July 30, with a 15-12 victory over the Charlotte Hounds. Playoff implications were determined tonight after all other eight MLL teams finished out their regular season play.

For the first time in MLL history, the two semi-final matchups will be hosted at two separate, neutral venues both on Saturday, Aug. 13. The second semi-final matchup will be held at the National Sports Center Stadium in Blaine, Minn. with faceoff set for 4:30 MDT.

The 2016 MLL Championship Game will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20. at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on the campus of Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga., with faceoff set for 5 p.m. MDT.
