Simon Fletcher may be entering the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame tonight as the Denver Broncos’ all-time leader in sacks (97.5), but even he’s not afraid to admit when he’s been outdone.

Von Miller currently sits at 67.5 sacks through 78 games, the third best mark in franchise history. That’s a pace of .87 sacks per game. In 172 career games, Fletcher’s 97.5 career sacks put him on a pace of .57 sacks per game.

While Fletcher is one of the best pass rushers in franchise history, Miller is simply on another level. If he keeps up this pace, he’ll surpass Karl Mecklenburg (79 career sacks) for second on the Broncos’ all-time list early next season, and he’ll most-certainly surpass Fletcher for No. 1 barring an early retirement.

Still, high praise from a Broncos legend.
