It is uncertain who will be playing nose tackle for the Denver Broncos next season. One thing that is certain is it won’t be the man who manned the position in 2016.

Defensive tackle Sylvester Williams as reached an agreement on a three-year contract with the Tennessee Titans on Friday. A former first-round selection by the Broncos, the team declined to exercise his fifth-year option last offseason, allowing him to become a free agent in 2017.

Williams started all 16 games for the Broncos last season, his fourth campaign with the club. In 2016, the 28-year-old had 29 tackles, one sack and one pass defensed.

“Those four years in Denver meant everything to me,’’ Williams told 9News. “[John] Elway and Kubes [Gary Kubiak] and Bill [Kollar], everything they did for me, it meant so much.

“And then to be able to win and win a ring in the Mile High City, and be part of that legacy of one of the better defenses of all time is something I’ll never forget for the rest of my life.”
