Peyton Manning may have made his long-awaited return, but it was C.J. Anderson that shined on The Sheriff’s first drive back. In fact, he scored three touchdowns! Two of them were called back, of course, but all that matters is that the Broncos ended up with seven points on the board.

Anderson started off his explosive series with a 27-yard rush to get the Broncos down to the Chargers’ 23 yard line. He followed that up with a 17-yard rushing touchdown run.

Unfortunately, after a lengthy review, the ball was ruled down on the 1-yard line.

The next play, Anderson pounded the ball into the end zone for the second time, but was again ruled down at the 1.

Finally, on next play, Anderson gives the refs no choice but to give him the touchdown.

C.J. Anderson now has 71 yards and a touchdown on just 9 carries. We’ll see if he can add to that number in the fourth quarter.
