The Denver Nuggets selected Jamal Murray with the seventh pick in the NBA draft, and although the youngster is skilled, he’s not going to be gifted a starting role.

Following the completion of the draft, Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly addressed the situation regarding who will start at the shooting guard position come next season.

So, even though the Nuggets selected the promising Murray in the lottery, he will have to battle his way to the top of the food chain, and Gary Harris isn’t going to make it easy.

After being drafted, Murray said he would play any position or any role the team asks him to.

“Point guard , two guard, scoring, playmaking……whatever the team needs,” Murray said. “It’s not about being a one or a two; it’s just what do I need to do.”

Just shoot and make buckets, Jamal. You’ll be fine.
