#StoryTime may have been dominating Twitter, but apparently not enough, as Trevor Story wasn’t able to sneak into the All-Star Game on fan voting.

Of the five finalists for the NL’s last spot, Story finished third, behind Starling Marte (2nd) and Brandon Belt (1st). And while he’s disappointed, he’s not going to let it bring him down.

“I wouldn’t say too much. I mean a little bit,” Story told Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro on The Afternoon Drive, “but I’m more team orientated than individual goals. I would have liked to have made the team — that would have been awesome — but it’s not the end of the world.”

That said, the #VoteStory movement really was impressive, as seemingly every Rockies fan in Denver participated in the movement. So impressive, in fact, that Story felt he was in line for the final spot.

“I mean, I know we have a great fan base, great fans, very loyal,” Story said. “I knew we were making some noise, so yeah, I thought I could happen.”
