Vance Walker suffered a season-ending ACL injury, the Denver Broncos announced Monday afternoon.

Walker was carted off the field during Monday’s morning practice after suffering the injury to his right leg.

“We think the world of Vance and he was having a great camp,” head coach Gary Kubiak said in a release from the team. “We’ll support him through his recovery, and he’ll come back stronger than ever.”

Walker was competing for a first-team defensive end spot to replace the departed Malik Jackson.
