In the midst of all the celebration and interviews and excitement, Von Miller took some time out to show his support for Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Manziel, who joins Von as a former Texas A&M Aggie, has gone through a lot in the past few years, culminating in the past weeks, as he’s being investigated on domestic violence charges. Following the news, the Cleveland Browns released a statement saying that they would be releasing their troubled quarterback as soon as they were able, and his father said he feared for his son’s life.

Manziel seems to be losing allies quickly, but Miller made sure to let Johnny Football know that he’s got his support “no matter what.”

Miller reiterated the point when asked about his resilience through scrutiny a few years back, when the All-Pro pass rusher was suspended six games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, saying it was the support he received from those around him that helped him persevere.

“I’ve definitely had my struggles and it was because of my teammates, my family, Mr. (John) Elway … (it’s) all these guys that never really quit on me and kept believing in me that got me to this moment where I am today,” Miller said, via ftw.com. “I say that to say, if you’re having a hard time right now, just keep pushing. The media wasn’t always my friend, but today they’re my friend now.”

He followed with another personal message to Johnny Manziel:

“The message is for Johnny. I want to see you do good. My heart goes out to you buddy. Come on, let’s get it right, Gig Em. The sky is the limit. When you get back, the sky is the limit.”

Not long after Miller posted his photo on Instagram, Manziel followed with a post of his own:

Miller continuously credits his growth and maturity to those around him like John Elway and DeMarcus Ware. Let’s all hope Johnny Manziel can find similar support.
