Sometimes, you just can’t watch.

If you’ve ever watched your child compete in a pressure situation, it can be hard, even impossible. If it becomes a real nail-biter, the best solution may just be to turn away. And apparently, that never changes, even after your child has spent nearly two decades playing at the highest level.

On Sunday, as Peyton Manning led the Broncos down the field on their game-winning touchdown drive, his father, Archie Manning, just couldn’t take it anymore; he turned away, and as he did, C.J. Anderson plunged into the end zone to give Denver 18-13 lead. Demaryius Thomas would then go on to convert the two-point conversion a moment later, giving the Broncos a seven-point advantage.

Well, the good news for Archie is that Manning and the Broncos won the game. The bad news, though, is that he’ll have to endure the same pressure next weekend as the Patriots come to the Mile High City.
