With a punt return as time expired on the first half of the Broncos-Colts game in Indianapolis, Omar Bolden breathed life into a listless Broncos team that was trailing 17-0 at the time.

It was about the only thing to go right for the Broncos in the half.

The clock was winding down and the Colts needed simply to contain the punt to Bolden, taking kicks because Emmanuel Sanders was in limited service after being hobbled on the first play of the game, to ensure a first-half shutout.

The Broncos offense had generated just 95 yards of offense in the half, so it’s surprising that Indianapolis didn’t put the ball out of bounds. They didn’t and 83 yards later, the Broncos were back in it.
