If there was any worry that the Denver Broncos would lose playmaking ability with the departure of Danny Trevathan, Zaire Anderson is making it clear this preseason that he’s ready to step into that role at inside linebacker.

Anderson forced two fumbles against the San Francisco 49ers and recovered another in Thursday night’s finale against the Cardinals. Undrafted rookie Dwayne Norman forced the fumble Thursday night.

Anderson is a first-year player who spent 2015 on the Broncos’ practice squad. In college, Anderson led the Nebraska Cornhuskers with 103 tackles (48 solo) in addition to recording two sacks (16 yds.), five passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries as a senior, earning honorable-mention All-Big Ten Conference honors.
