If you think the mood is doubtful around the Broncos and Peyton Manning right now, give a listen to Josh Katzenstein of the Detroit News. Katzenstein joined Gil Whiteley on Mile High Sports AM 1340 on Friday in advance of the Broncos game against the Lions on Sunday night and said he expects Denver to win by a double-digit margin.

The Lions, according to Katzenstein, “are not pass blocking well.” Putting the ball in the end zone will be a major challenge for Detroit, as a result. The best chance for success, he believes, is for Ameer Abdullah to carry a heavy load and run between the tackles.

But that’s going to take the commitment of the Lions coaching staff, who has abandoned the run early in their first two games of the season, both losses.

Things may seem bleak in Denver while the Broncos try and work out their own issues on the offensive line and running the ball, but they’re still atop the AFC West and still undefeated.

Whiteley suggested that the Broncos would trade Sylvester Williams for Haloti Ngata, straight up right now, but most assuredly the Lions would trade an uphill 2-0 start for their current position. If Detroit can’t win on Sunday night, they could be 0-5 as they face Seattle and Arizona in the weeks that follow.
