The fact that the starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos is currently Marks Sanchez is troubling, no doubt. Luckily, as Aqib Talib says, the Broncos have John Elway already in the building.

“It’s a good thing we’ve got John Elway. He does a great job of putting teams together. He doesn’t only bring guys in for their talent. He brings in guys on how he believes they will mesh with the team,” said Talib on SportsCenter Monday morning, via The Denver Post. “I have been in locker rooms where guys get off work and you don’t see them. In this locker room, everyone meshes really well. That’s a credit to John Elway.”

And it’s that family-like mentality that many of the Broncos have credited for their Super Bowl run.

So if the most important thing for any potential quarterback is that they fit into the locker room, what does Talib think of Colin Kaepernick, the one option on most people’s mind?

“Who knows? We need to get him in that locker room and get him around the guys and see how it goes. (San Francisco) came to our facility last year (for dual practices during training camp), and he’s a good quarterback,” Talib said. “He has one of the strongest arms in the league, and we already know what he can do with his legs. (Kaepernick) has to be interested a little bit.”

Whomever it is starting Week 1, Talib believes the Broncos will be just fine. With Elway up top and with Gary Kubiak running the ship down on the field, every quarterback will be set up for success.

“I think as long as the quarterbacks put in the work and listen to coach (Kubiak), if we put in that same work, I don’t see why we can’t repeat,” Talib said.

Let’s hope he’s right.
