For the fifth time in his career Derick Brassard is on the move.

According to several reports, including Darren Dreger of TSN, the Colorado Avalanche have acquired Brassard from the Florida Panthers. The 31-year-old center was traded from Pittsburgh to Florida earlier this month.

Brassard has played in 50 games this season, 40 for the Penguins and 10 for the Panthers. He has 10 goals and nine assists.

According to Pierre LeBrun of TSN, the Avalanche sent a third-round pick in 2020 to the Panthers. The Panthers will send Brassard and a conditional sixth-round pick in 2020 back to the Avalanche.

Brassard will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2018-19 season. If he re-signs with the Avalanche, Colorado will not receive the conditional sixth-round pick.

Brassard does not need to travel far to join his new team. The Avalanche play the Panthers Monday night.
