The Colorado Avalanche have unveiled their new logo to commemorate the franchise’s 20th anniversary season in Denver. This will be celebrated throughout the 2015-16 season.

The Avalanche tweeted out the exciting news Thursday afternoon.

Avalanche President & Governor Josh Kroenke talked to coloradoavalanche.com saying, “The Avalanche have established a legacy in Denver over the past 20 years, including winning the Stanley Cup twice and countless memories in between. Throughout this 20th anniversary season, the organization will host a variety of events to honor the first two decades of Avalanche hockey. The support of our fan base has been tremendous since our inaugural season, and we look forward to celebrating with our fans throughout the year.”

Avalanche Executive Vice President/General Manager Joe Sakic added, “The entire organization is excited for the many events planned this season, which will culminate with the Coors Light NHL Stadium Series outdoor game against the Detroit Red Wings in February. We would like to thank our fans for being such a big part of our 20-year history, from McNichols Arena to Pepsi Center.”

Avs fans can except more detailed news on the upcoming 20th anniversary season sometime in August.
