The New York Giants’ 2017 season went south in a hurry.

The Giants are one of only three winless teams in the NFL, and the Denver Broncos are going to do their best to ensure that they remain that way for at least one more week.

The Broncos know that they’re going to get the hungry Giants’ best effort come Sunday night, and they know what they need to do to get prepared for a tighter game than anyone expects.

“If you don’t show up in this business every week, you’re going to get your butt kicked,” running back C.J. Anderson said on Wednesday. “One thing holds true: we know the Giants are 0-5. But we also know they have Pro Bowl players.”

The Giants have plenty of players that can cause the Broncos problems on Sunday, but the Giants have also been decimated by injury just five weeks into the season. The Giants saw four of their receivers go down with injuries on Sunday alone. While that may be an anomaly, head coach Vance Joseph says that doesn’t change how the Broncos will get ready for the Giants.

“How do we approach that? We don’t,” Joseph said. “It’s really about our football team each week — and that’s been explained to our football team. Our only goal each week is to play our best game that we can play. That doesn’t change who we’re playing; if they have issues or if they don’t have issues. It does not matter. It’s about our football team each week, playing our very best football game we can play.”

While the Broncos may be heavy favorites in the sports books, Joseph has made sure to drive the message home to his players that there are no favorites in the NFL. Any team can knock anyone else off on any given weekend, and the Broncos are well aware of that.

“I think coach Joseph had a good message right after we played the Bills,” quarterback Trevor Siemian said. “There’s no upsets. There’s no favorites in the NFL because anything can happen every week. You see plenty evidence of that every Sunday.”

The Broncos know the key to making sure the Giants remain winless on Sunday night is simple: “We have to play our best football,” Siemian said. “I think each week, it doesn’t really matter who you’re playing, but you have to play your best football. You want to be a tough out every week. I think we can be that.”
