The Denver Broncos will be interviewing T.C. McCartney for the team’s open quarterback coach position, according to Mike Klis of 9News.

The son of former Colorado Buffaloes QB Sal Aunese and grandson of legendary CU head coach Bill McCartney, T.C. began his coaching career in Boulder, where he spent the 2012 and 2013 seasons as a graduate assistant.

In 2014, McCartney broke into the league as a quality control assistant for the Cleveland Browns, before getting hired as an offensive assistant by the San Francisco 49ers in 2015. After one year with the 49ers, McCartney briefly returned to the college ranks, working as an offensive assistant under Les Miles at LSU in 2016, but ultimately came back to the 49ers in 2017.

Now, McCarney could be rejoining Broncos offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello, who previously served as San Francisco’s quarterback coach, before being hired by Vic Fangio this winter.
