The 2017 Colorado Rockies are off to the best start in franchise history. More than a quarter through the season, Colorado has managed to compile a National-League-best 31-18 record; however, despite their early season surge, people are not yet ready to buy stock in the Rockies. Manager Bud Black has a message for the doubters.

“Hey, just keep watching,” Black said ahead of the club’s three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals. “It’s okay. It’s all right. Just keep watching, just keep watching. I can’t put words in other people’s mouths, right? But keep watching, that’s what I tell [the doubters].”

While Colorado has been undeniably one of the best teams in baseball so far, there are still a ton of “what if’s” that will dictate where they sit in the standings come season’s end. Their young pitching staff has exceeded expectations, Greg Holland is perfect in save opportunities, and just about everything that can go right has gone right for the Rockies so far in the 2017 campaign.

From top to bottom, the Rockies have played solid baseball in every aspect of the game.

As it stands, the Rockies rank top-10 in hitting, fielding, and pitching in the National League and are one of the best teams overall in the sport. Every night, someone new seems to find a way to win for Colorado. Whether it’s one of their phenomenal rookie pitchers, revived veterans, or household names, the Colorado Rockies are finding ways to win baseball games consistently and effectively in 2017.

That said, despite their head-turning play, many people within baseball are not yet ready to fully buy into what the Rockies are all about this season.

While there is still a long way to go in the 2017 season, the Rockies have done a fantastic job of starting the Bud Black era off on the right foot. There are still many obstacles ahead for Colorado this season, but for now, Black and Co. will continue to do what they have done all season long – take things one game at a time.

Everyone else can sit back and watch.
