With summer here, the high school athletic season has ended, and with that comes pride and satisfaction of the successes over the past year. In results CHSAANow.com compiled, Cherry Creek’s athletic programs led the way with team championships during the 2014-15 school year, while Thompson Valley captured the most individual titles.

Cherry Creek took five team titles with four coming from the boys, the most in the state for that gender. Following them, Cheyenne Mountain and Grandview both finished the year with four state championships. Grandview, notably won four girls championships for the most in the state for that gender. Eaton, Colorado Academy, Lyons and Valor Christian were next with each school winning three team championships. Overall, 65 teams won at least one team title in 2014-15, with 17 schools winning at least two.

Taking a look at the individual championships from the 2014-15 season, Thompson Valley had eight boys and six girls come away with a total of 14 titles, which was a state-best. Cherry Creek followed with 13 individual titles, Pomona won 10, Lyons won eight and Air Academy and Cheyenne Mountain each secured seven individual trophies. In total, 131 schools won at least one individual championship, with 73 schools having at least two individual champions.
