The AP Top 25 remains one step behind the College Football Playoff Rankings.

After the CFP Ranking had the Buffs at No. 16 in their first rankings two weeks ago, it wasn’t until last week that the AP Poll put them at 16, too. By that time, though, the CFP Ranking had already moved CU up to 12, and now, after a blowout victory against Arizona, the AP Poll has caught up again, ranking the Buffs at No. 12.

We’ll see where the Buffs turn up in the CFP Rankings, which will be released on Tuesday, but they should most definitely be higher than 12.

CU will face off against two top-25 teams in their final two weeks — No. 20 Washington State and No. 11 Utah. Wins there, and they’ll likely face off against No. 7 Washington in the Pac-12 Championship game.

It’s crunch time for the Colorado Buffaloes.
