One of the nation’s premiere car and motorcycle top speed racing events, The Colorado Mile, is returning to Front Range Airport this Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 2-4. A combination of over 100 performance cars and motorcycles from across the world will gather outside Denver to test their top speeds on a 1-mile airport runway. Gear heads, car enthusiasts, and spectators will once again gather with one question in mind – will the current top speed record of 246.1 MPH be surpassed?

Colorado Springs native and current top speed record holder, Pikes Peak Racing’s 2012 Charcoal Nissan GT-R will be back with full determination to break their own record of 246.1 MPH in one mile. This year The Colorado Mile will be featuring the World’s Fastest Street Legal Bagger (type of motorcycle) competition put on by Denver local Road Skulls V-Twin Performance and Quaker Steak & Lube. If you love fast cars and motorcycles, seeing them up close and in action, then you don’t want to miss The Colorado Mile.

Also returning is award winning broadcaster, Kurt Hansen and his Motorsports Media Group. “We will help make this event, a ‘must-attend-and-compete-in event’, making it a unique Motorsports event in the United States, North America and maybe the world,” said the former driver and current motorsports insider.

To get the full Colorado Mile experience bring out the whole family, rent a golf cart and cover the event from Start to Finish. You will see Lamborghinis, Porsches, Chevrolet Corvettes, Dodge Challengers, Ford Mustangs, BMWs, Harley Davidsons, Suzuki Hayabusas, and even a racing RV! Onsite amenities range from local food vendors, cool racing merchandise for all ages, and a shaded beer garden located with a view to catch all the action.
