For the latest Colorado MMA News Weekend Preview, the crew covers the Lionheart in the main event at UFC Lincoln, LFA 85 with Carona Virus, training with Tiger in Thailand, and things to do while you’re in quarantine.
Although no fights are happening this weekend, hunker down because Anthony “Lionheart” Smith (33-14) of Factory X is still scheduled to fight in the Main Event against the heavy-handed Brazilian, Glover Texeria (30-7) the weekend after UFC 249. Despite the coronavirus threat, Smith is still training hard to put on a show and reclaim his #1 contender status in the light heavyweight division.
Smith vs Texiera is scheduled to go down on April 25th in Lincoln, Nebraska, streaming live on ESPN +. The main card starts at 6:00 pm MST. Mark the date on your calendar and start your countdown.
More Coronavirus News:
Initially scheduled for March 27th and 28th, the King of Sparta bantamweight and featherweight tournaments have both been postponed.
Additionally, LFA 85, scheduled to take place in Broomfield on April 3rd, has been postponed as well. The event had also recently lost its main event fight due to Steve Garcia Jr. getting called up to the UFC.
Garcia was scheduled to throw down with one of Colorado’s best-unsigned prospects, Justin “J-Train” Gonzales (10-0), in the main event.
