The 2017 NFL Scouting Combine wrapped up on Monday. Live from Indianapolis, NFL Insider (and former NFL scout) Benjamin Allbright checked in with Sean Walsh on Mile High Sports Radio, giving his thoughts on the prospects he saw.

“Another one in the books, it’s a class that looks like it’s got a lot of depth to it,” Allbright said. “Maybe not as strong at the top of the class as some classes in recent history; but there’s a lot of value draft picks that will be available in the third and fourth round of this class.”

According to Allbright, this draft actually sets up pretty well for the Denver Broncos. Though not every pick will necessarily be a home run, the might be able to find a few players able to make an impact.

“The positions that they have of need certainly have a lot of value in this draft; so, I would say that they should be happy,” Allbright said. “This is one of the deepest tight end drafts in history. There’s some offensive line help here that can definitely help them out down the line; and there’s a couple of nose tackles here that I think are worth something.”

All areas of need. All likely to be addressed in some fashion. That being said, here in Denver, a lot of the focus is on what the Broncos will do with the 20th overall selection. While things might change, Allbright provided some insight as to which of the aforementioned positions the team will look to first.

“Based on the way the roster sits right now, keep in mind this will change, I think you have to shore up that offensive tackle position,” he said. “I’d say you have to take the best one available, whether that’s Ryan Ramczyk or Garett Bolles out of Utah.

“Now, if they do go out and get [Andrew] Whitworth in free agency, that might change a little. [Then] I might look at some of these tight ends, maybe an O.J. Howard if he’s available, or even a nose tackle, just depending on who’s available.”
