Every offseason, NFL players far and wide host football camps. Parents gladly shell out their money so their children can learn from the best of the best. Denver Broncos linebacker Shane Ray will host such a camp in Kansas this summer. The difference? It will be completely free of charge.

The first annual Shane Ray Rays Awareness football camp is set to take place on Sat. June 17 at Bishop Miege High School in Mission, Kan. A suburb of Kansas City, it is not far from the  city where Ray was born and raised; a city that he proudly has emblazoned across his back.

“I always wanted to make an impact in the community,” said Ray.

The camp is part of the FUNdamentals program, which follows USA Football’s Player Progression Development Model. It will also include a Beyond the Field parent’s workshop.
