As the 2017 NFL Draft nears, media outlets and experts are scrambling to find the smallest bit of news and/or leaked information about a team’s draft plans.

Getting inside information can be as tightly sealed as Fort Knox and often teams will “leak” false information to the public in order to advance their own agenda for draft day.

In regards to the Denver Broncos, general manager John Elway has been very vague with the media about Denver’s draft plans, as are most team general managers on the eve of the draft.

However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter believes he has discovered some inside Broncos information about Denver’s draft day plan:

On the verge of returning as playoff contenders, the Broncos could be looking for an elite prospect that could take the team to the next level.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Broncos could be targeting O.J. Howard, scouted as the best tight end in the draft and could contribute on day one. Fans will also see this news as hope that RB Christian McCaffrey may still be in play to come home to Colorado.

On the defensive side of the ball, elite defenders such as Stanford DL Solomon Thomas, LB Rueben Foster, or Temple LB Haason Reddick lurk at the top of the first round and could be potential fits for the Broncos.

Perhaps even more likely however, is that they targeted someone at 20, and fear someone else might snatch him.

This could be a major leak of the Broncos’ draft day plan, or a major smokescreen let out by team GM John Elway. Coming from Adam Schefter, it is very possible that it’s the former.
