The Colorado Rockies announced Monday that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Jairo Diaz from Triple-A Albuquerque and have optioned left-handed pitcher Zac Rosscup to Triple-A.

Diaz, 26, will be making his second appearance on the Rockies active roster this season. He was recalled from Triple-A on June 26 and made one appearance, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits with two strikeouts in one inning pitched at San Francisco; he was optioned back to Triple-A the following day.

In 15 appearances with Albuquerque and High-A Lancaster this year, Diaz has gone 0-1 with a 3.07 ERA (14.2 IP, 5 ER), two walks and 19 strikeouts. He missed the entire 2016 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery and began the 2017 season on the 10-day disabled list prior to being reinstated and optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on April 29.

In his first season with the Rockies in 2015, Diaz went 0-1 with a 2.37 ERA (19.0 IP, 5 ER), six walks and 18 strikeouts in 21 appearances.

Rosscup, 29, made three appearances with the Rockies after his recall from Triple-A on July 8, allowing one run on four hits in 3.2 innings pitched (2.45 ERA). He was acquired via trade from the Chicago Cubs on June 26 in exchange for right-handed pitcher Matt Carasiti.

Rosscup made one appearance for the Cubs this season, pitching 0.2 innings of hitless, scoreless relief on May 22 vs. San Francisco. He spent the entire 2016 season on the 60-day disabled list with left shoulder inflammation. In 64 career relief appearances with Chicago (2013-17) and Colorado (2017), he has gone 3-1 with a 5.19 ERA (50.1 IP, 29 ER), 47 hits, 32 walks and 62 strikeouts.
